The Paymonaé Puffer
From my time in NYC I found there to be a lot of homeless men being denied entry to stores, restaurants, gas stations and common public areas purely because they physically didn’t look “put together”. Business owners won’t allow people they deem as homeless into their business out of fear of “scaring” other customers or lowering the value of their brand. Homeless people are humans and deserve to be treated as such.
The purpose of my design is to aid the homeless by providing comfort, warmth, style, and a place to store their possessions all in one convenient aesthetically pleasing place.
A lot of homeless people live on the ground in a sleeping bag.
I plan to reuse a sleeping bag and turn it into a long puffer coat.
The goal is for these men to be able to confidently walk into anywhere they need to be without the fear Of being asked to leave. I want them to feel warm, stylish, confident, and ready to take on their day.
